About Us
William Kevin Stoos (Kevin), founder of William Kevin Stoos, P.C., started his career as a military prosecutor for the United States Army with the First Infantry Division. After his military service, he was appointed Assistant Attorney General for the State of Iowa in Area Prosecution.
In 1981, he entered private practice in Sioux City, Iowa where he tried civil cases. He became partner and senior partner in several well-recognized regional law firms before beginning his solo practice as William Kevin Stoos, P.C. in 1999.
Over the years, he has worked for several regional and national insurance companies in the defense of personal injury lawsuits and insurance coverage litigation. He has also represented Plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death cases and represents contractors in construction defects litigation.
In addition to his law practice, Kevin has written extensively for many religious, medical, and other publications and is a regular contributing author and columnist for several publications. Income received from his writings is donated to support charitable causes.
Kevin has also previously been an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota School of Law teaching courses in Insurance Law and has served in the past as sponsor of the school's alternative dispute resolution coach.
